Committees

The Latinx Cultural Association (LCA) actively encourages its members to be involved and take on leadership roles within the club. LCA's board members lead various committees to facilitate their growth and development, each with a specific focus and purpose. Here are the committees within LCA:

Familias Committee

The Familias Committee focuses on creating a supportive and familial environment within LCA. They organize events, activities, and bonding experiences that foster a sense of belonging and strong connections. This committee aims to build a close-knit community to find support, friendship, and an understanding of home away from home. They help organize each of the extensive/little programs to match-make to the person who can be their lifelong mentor.

Sports Committee

The Sports Committee organizes friendly competitions, sports events, and recreational activities that allow members to engage in physical activities while building teamwork and relationships. This committee encourages members to participate and have fun outside the club's events by still promoting socializing with other organizations.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising committee organizes events and initiatives to raise funds for LCA's activities and community outreach programs. They plan and execute fundraisers, such as challenges, fruta sales, or partnerships with local businesses. This committee plays a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability and success of LCA's initiatives.

Performance Committee

The Performance Committee focuses on showcasing the talent and creativity within LCA through artistic and cultural performances. They organize our LCA formal and our end of the Latinx Banquet. Alongside this, try to develop forms of talent to showcase at CUltral Fest or PCW’s Got Talent.

Escuela de Cocina

This committee promotes cultural education and awareness within the club and the broader campus community. They organize cultural presentations to provide opportunities for members to learn about the diverse aspects of Latinx culture, including traditions, history, language, and art forms. As well as learn to make different cultural cuisines to share at our club meetings.

By having these committees, LCA provides opportunities for members to take on leadership roles, contribute their skills and interests, and shape the club's direction. It allows individuals to grow within LCA by taking ownership of specific areas of interest and fostering their personal and professional development. These committees enable members to actively engage, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact within the LCA community and beyond.
